Dental Bridges

Two dental crowns and free-standing artificial teeth (pontics) come together to create a dental bridge. Used to replace one or more missing teeth in a row, it is held in place using healthy abutment teeth as anchors. Once secured, a dental bridge replicates the look of a complete smile while improving a person’s ability to eat nutritious foods and speak clearly. When properly cared for, these restorations can last 10 years or more.

Dentures

When multiple teeth are missing along an arch but do not sit next to each other, a partial denture can be used to rebuild a person’s smile. Made out of acrylic and designed to mimic natural gum tissue, it fits into place like a puzzle piece and attaches to natural teeth using metal clips. If an entire row of teeth is missing, a full denture can be created. Designed using the same materials as a partial, the only difference is there is no metal framework to hold it in place. Instead, full dentures use natural suction and denture adhesive to remain firmly inside the mouth.

Dental Implants

To replace not only the crown but also the root, a dental implant can be used. Made of titanium, these small posts fit into the jawbone and fuse over 4-6 months through osseointegration. Their ability to support a dental crown, bridge, or denture makes them highly versatile, and they can last 30 years or more. The process for placement and restoration can be completed by Dr. Diaz in our dental office, so patients can remain in one convenient location for treatment.
